NOSTALGIA

Nostalgia is a feeling which does not have an equal! The memory of beautiful and worthwhile things in life can keep us in captivity for a long time; can make us restless; can excite us and provoke us... However true, such a revelation is not an appeal to constantly look back and ultimately idealize what was before. Thinking about the past too much can prevent the rationalization of the present and can lead to a failure in the construction of the future. Nostalgia is in many cases loaded with grim yearning, sadness and even grief. This type of nostalgia suppresses the person and causes him deep discomfort.

But there is another type of nostalgia - the aesthetized, inspirational one. It causes excitement, but along with that particular satisfaction that we have been in a nice place that we have communicated with wonderful people, that we have had a unique love, that we have experienced something extraordinary and wonderful. This feeling is able to overcome the barriers of time without being so corrosive and discomforting, as it is for emigrants or immigrants, for example...

Thanks to this aesthetized nostalgia, our being gains meaning and stands out on the background of countless banal experiences. This is to a very great extent so, precisely because things are not as they were, but as we remember them, as it has sown and cut by the filter of time, of the cultural memory, of the individual spiritual world! So do not touch Nostalgia, keep it, rejoice! It is a sign that you are still alive, yearning and sensual...
