The masters in the Bulgarian fashion decorated themselves with Golden Needle 2008

The most significant achievements in the Bulgarian fashion were honored with the award “Golden Needle 2008” at a refined ceremony in “Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan”. For fourteen consecutive year the Academy for fashion gave its most prestigious award, with which is attributed the deserved recognition at the creators, working in the sphere of the fashion and of the style.
36-member jury, composite of representatives of the leading Bulgarian media, nominated the new bearers of the high prize through online voting. The results are legalized by notary Axenia Monova. The excellent creators in the Bulgarian fashion presented at the gala spectacle “Golden needle 2008” collections, produced especially for the ceremony. Their models were kept in secret to the evening itself of the event. The refined plastic art "Golden needle" by tradition was made from the famous Bulgarian designer of jewels Angelo Krasini. As we know, the Academy for fashion is created in 1993 in Paris by idea of Mrs. Donka Ganeva and Prof. Dr. Lubomir Stoykov. Its honored president is Mr. David Pizanti (France). The Academy for fashion has for its main aim the helping and the popularization of the Bulgarian fashion, the raising of its professional image in Bulgaria and abroad, the valuation and the stimulation of our best fashion creators. The bestowing of the prize this year is organized collaboratively by the Academy for fashion and by the program “Made in Bulgaria”.
The results from the voting of the Bulgarian fashion and lifestyle journalists were categorical: owner of the precious statuette in the category “Designer of the year” became Alia Milusheva ("Astella Atelier"). She received her award by the bearer of the last year’s award Albena Alexandrova and by Daniela Giosheva – “Our beautiful Bulgaria”. After the counting of the votes of the journalistic jury was found to be that two of the nominated in the category “Fashion house of the year” are with equal number of votes. The one excellent became “Markam”, those designer Nikolay Buzov received the high prize personally by Valeria Jekova – president of BAPIOT. Veselin Slavchev, owner of “Etere”, was congratulated by Lilia Stoyanova from hotel complex “Empire” and by Miroslav Stamov – company “Miró”.
Moni Frances for second time took the high medal for fashion photography, as the new “Golden needle” was bestowed to him by Maria Georgieva – editor-in-chief of magazine “Elle” - Bulgaria and by Angel Tsvetanov – bearer of the prize of the last year.
Julia Angelova also already is twice bearer of the prize for fashion make-up, as personally Martina Vachkova and Kiril Chalakov bestowed her the valuable statuette. The top maker-up was prepared a special dance show with ballet “New Ex”. Milka Alexandrova – Buchi was honored with "Golden needle" in the category “Jewels (accessories)”. Her prize was bestowed to her by Svetoslav Spasov – owner of “Iko - S”, official representative of “Kerakol” for Bulgaria and Angelo Krasini – one of the leading names in the Bulgarian design of jewels and author of the plastic art “Golden needle”.
The guests were impressed by the original concept to be presented jewels with dance etude. Biliana and Peter Pelov – “Bipone” became pride bearers of “Golden needle” in the category “The best young designer” and they were personally congratulated by Radost Draganova – presenter of the broadcast “Ogledala” at BTV and Prof. Lubomir Stoykov – president of the Academy for fashion.
Their original presentation with body painting of the world champion Bella Volen reasserted the right decision of the jury of the “Golden needle”.
Virginia Zdravkova ("Virginia Atelier") became for third time bearer of the "Golden needle" – this time in the category “Fashion spectacle” for collection “Lavazza”. She received the special compliments of Donka Ganeva – president of the Academy for fashion and of Vesela Draganova – deputy.
The prize for whole contribution was adjudged to our designer Svetla Dimitrova – “Aries Unique” who received her statuette from Teodora Tsvetanova – “KGB Building Group” and from the bearer of the prize from the last year Jana Jekova.
Paola Apsi (studio “Paola Apsi”) was honored with "Golden needle" – special prize of program “Made in Bulgaria” for contribution to the raising of the national self-confidence and identity. Their special congratulations to her addressed the deputy Maria Kapon, Adriana Tsaneva and Olga Uskova – Program “Made in Bulgaria”.
All of bearers of “Golden needle 2008” were congratulated by the presidents of the Academy for fashion – Mrs. Donka Ganeva and Prof. Lubomir Stoykov.
During the ceremony with their collections participate the official guests “Triumph”, “Nicowa“, “Miró”, “Gizia”, “Velmar” and the leather clothes of designer Vassilios Ioannidis.
Presenter of the evening was Rumiana Marinova - “Mrs. Globe 2004”. Among the hundreds guests in the overcrowded big hall „Royal” of hotel „Sheraton” distinguished Nataly Genova, Jordanka Chernaeva, Silvia Katsarova, Amalia Tincheva, Dr. Diana Tsekleeva, Irena Varadinova, Dendi, Korso, Elena Garudi, Iren Komitova, Spas Kiosev, Pavel and Edita Tsvetkov, Papa Jean, Anelia Petkova, Antoaneta Dolkina, Nina Todorova etc. The Right Reverend Levkinian bishop Pavel answered at the personal invitation of program „Made in Bulgaria” and supported spiritually the Bulgarian fashion. Dozens of journalists from the media documented the ceremony of the yearly awards „Golden needle 2008”. For the good mood of the presents took cares Andy and Lubena Nenova.
