Volumetric glasses – a fashion privilege for everybody
Forget the expression “Volumetric glasses don’t fit to each face”. The hottest news this season comes especially for all admirers of volumetric shapes. They are not a fashion taboo for most of the fans of hit glasses but they are a fashion privilege which everybody can take advantage of.
In the collection of “Kwiat” for spring-summer 2009 the volume of glasses is visually reduced. This effect is achieved by using a special technology – the main color of the frame is combined with transparent material, which outlines it. Another approach for achieving this effect is the non-standard hold of the lens which are not entirely enveloped by the frames.
For the new season “Kwiat” adds glasses in the shape of butterfly’s wings to the styling of urban girls. The retro-style from the 70-ies returns, but it is renewed with decorations and embossed floral motives, which imitates engraving. The Bulgarian brand stays true to the midnight black, but it diversifies the color palette with non-standard nuances such as dark coral and brown marble. White returns, but in a noble pearl nuance. Gold obsesses lens but as mirror effect. Men’s glasses are in dark grey, black and brown. All glasses by “Kwiat” have a guarantee.

Lara Bohinc receives a prestigious award
Recently Lara Bohinc was honored at the prestigious “Elle Style Awards” by being crowned Jewellery Designer of the Year. During the ceremony talented Lara chose to wear a necklace from her new “Coco” collection.
Lara Bohinc is one of the most innovative and exciting jewellers working in fashion today. She has recently renewed a long-term contract to design fine jewellery for “Cartier” and has worked with many of the top names in the fashion world, including “Gucci”, “Guy Laroche”, Julien McDonald.
Born in Slovenia, Lara has been devoted to fashion, jewellery and architecture from an early age. After studying industrial and graphic design at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts, in 1994 she came to London, where she took an MA in jewellery and metalwork.
Winning a “Marks&Spencer New Generation Design Award in 1997, she successfully launched her own jewellery label, ‘Lara Bohinc 107’, in the same year.
