OP ART ILLUSION

Recently the students from the National Art Academy, specialty „Fashion” organized original fashion show, called “Op party”. The fresh project included presentation of fashion collection of digital textile prints. The vanguard lady’s dresses and top garment with substandard volumes and silhouettes are created through the world fashion trend “print”, showed with the means of the “Op art” movement.

The project is motivated by the celebration of the fifth birthday of printing house “J-Point” that is searching for original approach to present its products. At the idea answer the students in second year, specialty “Fashion” from the National Art Academy that this year celebrates the ten-year jubilee of their specialty.

The result is a fashion collection wholly filled with materials, presenting in the catalogue of the printing house. The high quality wide-format prints on textile give full freedom to the students to reveal their fantasies. The aim is to be showed vanguard cloths those illusions can’t be achieved without the perfect quality of the images, color and shades of the print on textile. At the same time this is one successful experience the advertising instruments to be transformed in new fashion image. The concept of the project is the relation between advertising media and fashion. The thought of one illusory and unreal world incarnates in one new reality through the contemporary art, showed nowadays with the help of the media.

The presentation of this concept, dressed in the form of fashion-show proves that a whole symbiosis between the fashion and the print exists. The uniting motive is the “Op art” movement that serves with the illusion. It changes entirely the generally accepted perceptions for the level, transforming it in different other shapes and volumes.

Presenter of the project is prof. Maya Bogdanova and among the participants are Andrey Nikolov, Borislava Kamenova, Veronika Slavcheva, Vesna Pevkeva, Georgi Stoilov, Gloria Ivanova, Ina Chokova, Liliana Petkova, Marta Pesheva, Mina Goleva, Nikolai Bojilov, Rosica Borshukova.
