THE GARDEN OF PARADISE GOT DOWN IN THE LADY’S WARDROBE

Fashion tendencies, advisedby the experts of P&G Beauty for summer 2008

The contemporary art seduces the designers that are inspired by all the trends in the drawing and they demonstrate a special interest to this phenomenon. When we except the outside influences, the designers work together with the painters to show up the idea that fashion can also be an art. The ecological discussions that burst during the last year provoked the fashion creator to present at the fashion stage clothing, remembering the garden of paradise. The flowers present everywhere during the hot season, and the sheerness again is leading value. The influence of the 70s is felt again, because it is logically related to the return to the nature. The freely falling dresses, the ornamented with flowers sheer slips, the simple but colorful vests, the bright ethno prints, the loose and flared trousers, as all the blouses with deeply cut off necklines indirectly urges us to escape from the everyday stress and from all our problems.

An art on the human body

The relation between the art and the fashion isn’t new – for it is already mentioned from side of the designers during the last seasons. The nuances are like separate color sport, remembering us of the canvas of the painters-modernists or like delicate, romantic accents that can be found in almost all of the collections. “Dolce&Gabanna” pay respect to the contemporary art and its endless experiments with the colors, materials and ideas. All methods are allowed: the aquarelle in the case of Christian Lacroix or the short dresses with clear line and big color spots of “Chloe”.

At Yves Saint Laurent the canvas of the painter transforms in a perfect material for the creation of everyday clothing, and the models are muses, that as if they don’t come from the fashion atelier but from some mansard of a painter-bohemian.

Bouquets of flowers
Bearing in mind the great number ecological discussions that were organized during the last year, this return to the nature, that propose the designers wouldn’t have to surprise nobody. In this season the floral motives rush into the fashion stages as in a real color jungle. The big bright flowers present in the collection of “Balenciaga” – with them are decorated the ultra fashion coats, that remember football equipments. “Kenzo” presents real floral drawings, underlined through embroideries and “Gucci” recreate floral motives, drew with black ink, shading in color spots.

Sheerness
The sheerness also dominates in the fashion defiles through the use of chiffon and organza. Jil Sander offers color, but gossamer dresses, combined with short sport clothes.
The sheerness will be always associated with the fine underwear and the collections of the season include direct references to it: for example the fluffy shorts of “Miu Miu”, The transparency is in perfect harmony with the powder tones and the optical white, as to the clothes, as to the accessories.

The 70s

The season, when the designers offer return to the nature, brings back to the fashion stage the fashion from the 70s as in this way it urges us to escape from all of the problems and from the everyday stress. The elegance of the 70s is suggested through firm silhouettes, shading forms, trousers with high waist (Yves Saint Laurent), clear vests and lady’s blouses. The dresses are sheer, long, in bright colors, with ethno prints and art effects (at Missoni) or they are influenced by the culture of the Gypsies (Roberto Cavalli). The knitting not so strongly manifested as during the winter season, still continue to play an important role.
