THE INSPIRATION IN THE FASHION DESIGN

The inspiration in the fashion creation is a life-giving juice for the original idea, a beautiful impulse that gives life to the beauty, a powerful emotional energy that feeds the imagination and stimulates the fashion process. When and how the inspiration to the different designers comes? Similar or radically different are the sources of the creative enthusiasm? What most often enthuses and motivates the creators of clothes and accessories?...

The real designers become aware of them selves as artists who need inspiration and for those the act of the creation of one cloth is a ritual and religious rite as it is for the sculptors and for the writers, for the composers and for the producers. Pierre Cardin and André Courrèges obtain inspiration from the cosmos and Karl Lagerfeld at his turn is inspired from the street, from the models, from everything that he notices. The diversity and the splendor of the beauty power him with energy to create new and new original, stylish, effective works of art. Yves Saint Laurent obtained inspiration from the novels of Marcel Proust and from the drawings of Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, and Romeo Gigli – from the ethnos, from the city “street” ideas and from the historical characters (among them for example is empress Teodora). The inspiration of Giorgio Armani is complex – from one side this is the daily round, the life in the street and bistros, the sport and the new negligee style of living, and from other – the emblem names from the big cinema, before those he bows down – Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. Or according to his definition he bows down before “the best dressed man in the history of the cinema” – Carry Grant and “the worst dressed, but the most genius and scandalous” – Orson Welles. Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and a number of others expressive creators obtain big emotional intensity from the youth subcultures, tendencies and varieties in the „city jungle”. McQueen, for example, is inspired from the street, but also from the antique culture; from the religion and from the virtual worlds. In his fashion-shows could be seen models of the so-called “street fashion”, “cyber fashion” and together with this works of art, inspired from the ancient Greek myths. As the creator him self confesses, all the people and all the things can inspire him: the accidental man in the street, the businessman, who is drinking coffee, the couple homosexuals...

The sources of creative enthusiasm and passion are really many various and often – unusual. One of them feel inspired from the beauty of the nature, others from the works of art, third from the women, fourth from the men, fifth from the animal world...Some of them power emotionally from the past, others from the present, and there are some of them who have „memories from the future”. Although it sounds strange, some creators obtain impulses from the contemplation of the garbage and waste, and others – even from the death and its symbols and attributes! The real designer can obtain stimulus from every direction, from every object, from every symbol. Of course, his receptors have to be enough sensitive for this. Of course, he has to the have the intelligence to understand the messages and to interpret them in his own way in his works of art. Because the inspiration in the fashion design is the life-giving ozone, without those we can’t imagine the quality dynamics in the fashion, its original transformations and its aesthetical vitality.
