ABOUT THE FASHION AND THE ADEQUATE APPEARANCE

There was one antithesis – it is very cool to be important, but it is more important to be cool! Moe and more rarely we use the expression „good appearance”. That’s right, because it is really preferable to talk about „adequate appearance”, „appropriate appearance” etc. It is very funny, when in the fashion somebody starts to talk about „correct” and „incorrect”. Today everything can be fashionable, if it is original, heuristic and design-protected. Today’s world is the world of the „all-permission”, of the extreme liberalism in the fashion choice, of the extremely fast change of the styles. People pay attention to what is different, shocking and provoking. So the trick with the red and the green socks can’t pass! The fashion has many faces and it is a mistake to judge of it only on one of them – in this case on the vanity. Besides there is nothing bad in the fact to be vain – this shows self-exactingness, self-criticism, striving for perfecting – inside and outside, spiritual and physical, with clothing and with behavior. It’s not good, when this develops in vanity, i.e. when the occupation with the appearance – with the clothes, the make-up, the hair-styles, the manicures, the pedicures etc transforms in end in itself and show one extreme and even ugly degree of the consumer’s culture...

The big effects are in the small things. Special and not positive feeling wake the enormous jewels, demonstrating fat bank accounts and fat wallets of husbands and lovers. The Bulgarian woman (with some exceptions, of course) depreciates the role of the hat, of the gloves, of the refined and miniature jewels. From time immemorial I repeat one thing as advice to the women – pay more attention to the hair-style and to the manicure, to the lipstick and to the make-up, to the ornaments and to the additions. They make the fashion; they shape the lasting, the definite impression!

For example the hair-style and the style à la garçon... The women with boyish detachment have special charm. Their energy, freshness and notes of rebelliousness act in magic way. There is no need to be made serious commentaries of the woman’s influence on the men’s manner of clothing. For this you can ask some well-epilated fashion specialists and parquet lions who in effect way demonstrate it on them selves. Another detail is the shoes that are too exact indicator of fashion culture, taste and aesthetical sense. One of the biggest connoisseurs of all the times is the fashion icon Marlene Dietrich. Just she had said: “The shoes are more important than the suits and than the dresses. The good shoes give elegance of your whole image. Wear them only in color that doesn’t contrast to your socks.” Very often, when I meet someone, I look fist at his shoes. They are peculiar business card to the rest accessories of his wardrobe, and in some measure to the character, and to the mentality.

In fact the fashion combines in itself the big and the small things; the conceptual silhouette and the shading details; the charm (the magic, the passion, the beauty, the seduction etc) and the power (the irrational force that makes you accept the new – in the shape, in the color, in the silhouette etc). The charm competes the cold and even the luxurious beauty; because its intensity is spiritual, intellectual and mystical (unexplainable and invisible, as says Sofia Loren). The aura, the detachment, the charisma are the synonyms of the charm that explain its irresistible magnetism...
