IT'S TIME FOR AN EXQUISITE FASHION SHOW FOR THE MOST STYLISH BULGARIANS
For the first time the Academy of Fashion will present the awards "BG Fashion Icon" at a summer ceremony

For the twelfth year the most prestigious awards for style and elegance of the Academy of Fashion - "BG Fashion Icon" will be presented. The expert council of the Academy of Fashion, including prominent lifestyle, fashion and secular journalists, and editors of leading print and electronic media, gave his proposals for nominations of the most stylish and successful Bulgarians for 2021. As before, the criteria for famous Bulgarian personalities to receive the status of BG fashion icons are qualities and virtues such as refined and modern taste and style, high professional achievements, impeccable culture, morality and reputation.
At the last edition of the competition, the prize was awarded to opera prima Raina Kabaivanska, pop singer and actress Poli Genova, jazz and pop singer Vasil Petrov and actor Ivaylo Zahariev in the Art category, Ivet Lalova in the Sports category, TV host Tsvetanka Rizova - "Litse v Litse", bTV, in the category "Media", Boyana Sharlopova and Maxim Behar in the category "Business".
On the occasion of the long-awaited holding of the twelfth edition of the Annual Awards "BG Fashion Icon 2021", the initiator of the prize Prof. Lubomir Stoykov – Chairman of the Academy of Fashion, said: "For a long time we adhere to the principle shares that this time too they are bright representatives of art, media and business, who with style and professionalism are a true standard for modern visual culture and impeccable taste. Thanks to the fellow journalists who made their valuable suggestions and thus helped the Academy of Fashion to make its decisions. I express my warm gratitude to all the designers who, despite the complex situation, will present their latest collections. The event will be held in the strictest compliance with the epidemic measures in full compliance with state regulations."
The awarding of the BG Fashion Icon awards will be held for the first time in June at a special ceremony at Vitosha Park Hotel. In the fashion show, just before the official award ceremony, current collections of famous Bulgarian designers and fashion houses will be shown, as well as debut works of fashion students from the National Academy of Art, whose lecturer is Prof. Lubomir Stoykov. A special emphasis will be on the works of such established fashion artists, winners of the Golden Needle, as Nevena Nikolova, Evgenia Jivkova, Ina Assa, Yordanka Chernaeva, Milka Alexandrova - Buchi, Nikolay Bozhilov, Mariela Gemisheva, Teodora Spasova, Dilyana Mateeva and others.
The three-time winner of the Golden Needle Albena Alexandrova will open the fashion show on the occasion of the 30th birthday of the famous fashion house "Roshavata Garga". She will present the show "Garga v kletka ne stoi" - a retrospective return over the years of iconic outfits of the brand. The presentation of the collection will begin with the participation of Albena Alexandrova herself, who has been its face since the founding of "Roshavata Garga".
The current trends in men's fashion will be presented by the fashion house "Banderol", with designers Desi and Nikola Karadamyanovi, who will also show their new proposals to the ladies from their provocative new collection for this year - "Dark Shadows". Selected creations from the "Impressions" collection will be presented by the winner of the Golden Needle, Radoslava Lazarova. Characteristic of the artist's artistic style is the author's lace, which is always present in the elegant, delicate and feminine wedding dresses of the fashion house "Blink".
Innovative creations spring-summer 2021 will be shown by the winner of the Golden Needle for "Fashion Innovation" Axel Hardy, who this season does not betray her main idea of ecological and ethical fashion, presenting a new material and in particular - biodegradable textiles. The designer's concept for the warm season is again based on zero waste in production and carries the message "Buy less - choose smartly." The designer of the Wolf Walley fashion brand Milena Petrova will present the "Selfi by Marinela" collection, which is both elegant and daring. The author was inspired to make it by a very special lady for her.
Designer Tanya Jan will present an exclusive collection "Be Timeless", which is the embodiment of chic in everyday life, bringing a sense of class and style. The fashion show before the ceremony for awarding the most stylish Bulgarians for the year will be closed with the latest bridal offers of wedding boutique ALEGRA with designer Radostina Ilieva, who will reveal part of her preliminary collection for 2022 - "Adorable white “.
The award, which will be given to the winners of the prize "BG fashion icon 2021", is a sculpture made by the impressive Bulgarian jeweler - Angelo Krasini. The statuette is an interpretation of Adam and Eve's first outfit - the fig leaf - with images of the most famous designers and fashion icons. The host of the event will be the charismatic actress and singer Marina Kiskinova. "BG fashion icon 2021" is realized with the kind assistance of: Lavazza, Vitosha Park Hotel, Balkantel, KWIAT, Nedelya, MAC Cosmetics, Selena ES, Agressia, beauty salon V&A Glamor, Rai Catering and Talisman Flower Shop. A special team from Thorax clinics will take care of the safety of guests and participants during the event.
For the period of its existence the prize "BG fashion icon" has established itself as the most authoritative annual award for style, professional success and visual culture in Bulgaria.
