She was born in Ontario, Canada where she grew up in a farm alongside her six brothers. Her family is very religious and as a child little Jessica’s dream was to become a dentist. People say that the best things in life are the less expected. Miss Stam was absolutely surprised when she was discovered by an agent during a visit to a fast food restaurant.
That is how the fairy-tale has started. Then participation in fashion shows of Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Jean-Paul Gaultier. Stam is an advertising face of Christian Dior, Donna Karen, Bulgari, Escada… the list is endless.
One of the famous international fashion sites - www.models.com ranks her at number 5 in the Top 50 of the best models. In 2007 Forbes magazine ranks her 15 in the best paid models countdown as her incomes for the same years amounts to 1.5 million dollars.
A curious detail of Jessica Stam’s carrier is the fact that she takes part in each campaign of photographer Steven Meisel and Marc Jacobs – head designer of Louis Vuitton created a bag after her name.
The ice grey eyes of Miss Stam are her trademark. She is defined as “a doll beauty” along with Jemma Word, Lily Cole, Devon Aoki, Heather Marks. Although she is very popular, Stam avoids to expose her private life. She dated Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chilly Peppers and Harrison Ford’s son Malcolm.
Which are the secrets of Jessica Stam for beautiful skin and hair? – “Do not wash them too often”. Jessica also has her passion – shoes, no matter flat or stilettos. She admits that she cannot live without a dry skin cream and according to her happiness is “eight hours sleep and hot coffee”.
