Svetoslav Kolchagov is one of the first, and most likely the first Bulgarian designer to dress a woman nominated for the Oscar film awards. Before him, other native fashion designers had dressed guests of the glamorous ceremony and accompanying parties for the red carpet, but no Bulgarian designer had done this for a person nominated for the grand prize.
Leslie Patterson enlisted the services of Svetoslav Kolchagov (of the Kolchagov Barba brand) and he created an outfit that, in his words, was "simple and designed with Leslie and her strong character in mind", going beyond the classic formal wear of the past style of the fashion house. Leslie Patterson is a film producer, screenwriter and multiple world triathlon champion. She is a key member of the crew of the acclaimed film "All Quiet on the Western Front" (director Edward Berger), which received 9 Oscar nominations, one of which was for Best Adapted Screenplay by Leslie Patterson. During the award ceremony at the Dolby Theater, the film won 7 prizes, including for Best Film, Best Director, etc.
The dress with which Patterson appeared at the official ceremony for the awarding of the Oscars was made of silk dupont and represented a combination between femininity, romance and formality. The color was a mix of mustard, pink and red. The outfit impressively harmonized with Leslie Patterson's soul, as well as her perfect forms and "amazing body".
Accessorizing the dress – shoes by Kat Maconie, bag by Aspinal of London and diamonds by Smiling rocks. In her personal profile on Instagram, the happy Leslie Patterson published her photo from the evening of the Oscars, thanked Svetoslav Kolchagov and Emilio Barba for the "amazing outfit", described the two partners as her "dream team" and wrote that she loves them.
It's pertinent to recall that Vivienne Westwood's longtime assistant designer and Academy of Fashion Golden Pin winner Svetoslav Kolchagov dressed Leslie Patterson earlier this year and for the 2023 BAFTA Awards in an original outfit that included a corseted top with an A-line skirt silhouette. The skirt was made of velvet and sequins, which were completely hand-painted, and the rope cut gave more dynamism and grace to Mrs. Patterson.
