CAMILLA, PRINCE CHARLES’ WIFE, VISITED THE LONDON FASHION WEEK

A special guest at the fashion week in London was Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Charles's second wife. She was dressed in a stylish dark blue, white stripe dress made by designer Bruce Oldfield.

Camilla's visit was a surprise to me and I was very pleasantly impressed when I met her at the showroom on the last day of the fashion event - February 19th. Duchess became acquainted with all designers who presented their creations in designer showrooms. The designers told her of her inspired and fashionable decisions for the autumn / winter season 2019. After a pleasant visit to the showrooms, Camilla was invited by Caroline Rush, Executive Director of the British Fashion Council, to the fashion show of the British young designer, Bethany Williams.

The young designer presented a collection of garments made from materials specifically made from recycled newspapers and organic scraps. Williams uses more stranded yarn and denim, which has already been worn in the form of other garments. Models are made from a commune of drug addicted women who, as part of their rehabilitation process, learn new crafts and techniques for clothing. With her collection, the designer tries to support the training program for women in Downview.

Camilla stressed that bringing together a group of people under one idea was wonderful, and because of the change it creates in the lives of these women, it deserves to be rewarded. On behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, the duchess bestowed the British Fashion Design Award to Bethany Williams. The prize is awarded for the second time in a row, the first person to be honored by the Queen personally is the designer Richard Quinn. The Queen Elizabeth II Prize kicks off the role of the fashion industry in society and it will be presented annually to a young British fashion designer who demonstrates outstanding talent and originality.

The Academy of Fashion marks and stimulates Bulgarian artists for 25 years

Designers and fashion artists will be honored for the 25th time by the Academy of Fashion. The Golden Needle 2019 Annual Awards will be held in mid-March at the Ramada Sofia Hotel. During the glamorous event, prizes will be awarded in categories such as "Designer of the Year", "Fashion House of the Year", "Best Young Designer" and others. For over a quarter century, the Academy of Fashion distinguishes and stimulates the best Bulgarian fashion artists. In support of this mission, a gala-spectacle every year traditionally precedes the official award ceremony. In it at the invitation of the Academy of Fashion participate talented designers, established and fashionable fashion houses.

Prof. Lubomir Stoykov, President of the Academy of Fashion, said: "Each year the Golden Needle award focuses on the latest trends of Bulgarian fashion artists. The beautiful performance not only delivers aesthetic delight and orientation in the latest trends of style but is also a logical prelude to the culmination of the evening - the award ceremony for the new Academy Award winners. I believe that this time the native designers will delight us with a lot of originality, innovation, refinement and chic. "
