CHIC AND BEAUTY AT THE "WHITE PARTY" OF THE ACADEMY OF FASHION

The socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion "Evenings of Style" was this time inspired by the color white. Connoisseurs of sophisticated clothing and elegance gathered in the capital's Millennium Gallery under the motto "Let it be white!". The summer fashion party captivated everyone with its sophistication and artistry.

In his speech, Prof. Lubomir Stoykov - chairman of the Academy of Fashion, pointed out as outdated the statement that the color white can and should be worn only in summer. The university lecturer and image and style expert emphasized that in the hot seasons, light tones of clothes continue to be fashionable and preferable. They are adequate from both an aesthetic and a functional point of view. At the same time, he noted, white clothing is increasingly successful and well-received in other seasons as well. Prof. Stoykov added: "A brilliant example in this regard is Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, who has not parted with white throughout the year... In fashion, the white color is like a white canvas for the artist - it allows her personality and charisma to stand out as much as possible, to feel and understand her message, to delve into her individual world, to properly assess the moment and life situation. White is really beautiful!".

In the evening dedicated to the color white, several thematic outfits of the winners of the "Golden Needle" - Albena Alexandrova, Radoslava Lazarova, Radostina Ilieva and Axel Hardy, as well as individual works of young designers, the first graduates of the International Fashion Connection Academy course with president, were shown Mila Zaharieva.
The fashion brand Alegra, with designer Radostina Ilieva, kicked off the fashion show by offering an A-line bridal gown with French lace that has a leaf-like shape and gently creeps towards the bottom of the outfit.

The host of the event, Veronika Stefanova - Miss Bulgaria World 2017 and face of "Golden Needle 2021", presented the outfit of fashion house "Blink" (designer Radoslava Lazarova) - wide trousers with a high waist, made of elastic silk satin in ivory color.

Albena Alexandrova and "Madame Roshav" had specially prepared for the theme "Let it be white!" a stylized renaissance costume with borrowings from the men's wardrobe of that era: the trousers are flared at the top and very narrow at the bottom - a "sock" type.

Mila Zaharieva, designer of the fashion brand "La Cara Mi EXCLUSIVE", presented a little black dress made in an A-silhouette, giving elegance and class. The uniqueness of the outfit is expressed in the author's pattern in the lining of the dress, which was made especially for her brand.

Debutant designers from the first graduating class of the International Fashion Connection Academy - Nataliya Penkova, Stylyana Dzhongova, Maria Dimitrova, Nataliya Markova also presented an outfit each. They were introduced and encouraged by Mila Zaharieva, president of IFCA and head of the Business Lady Club.

Axel Hardy presented two outfits, the first of which was an avant-garde piece that used an ancient knitting technique - crochet. The second creation of the designer, which ended the fashion presentations, was also dedicated to the main theme of the Evening of Style.

The event took place with the support of "Balkantel". It was honored by a number of prominent representatives of science, art, diplomacy, the artistic world and business, including Prof. Efrem Efremov, Assoc. Many took the opportunity to get a personal autograph from Prof. Lubomir Stoykov on his iconic books "World Fashion Icons", "Theoretical Problems of Fashion", "World Fashion" (in three parts). The sophisticated party enjoyed increased foreign interest. Guests from the USA, France, Italy, Greece, Costa Rica and others were present.

MINI OR MAXI - HOT TOPIC BY THE ACADEMY OF FASHION

* The socio-cultural project "Evenings of Style" in the Millennium Gallery continues successfully

The second event of the new socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion - "Evenings of Style" took place. This time it was dedicated to the topic "Mini or maxi?" - one of the eternal dilemmas about the dress code of every woman.

The host of the event was Veronika Stefanova - Miss Bulgaria World 2017 and the face of "Golden Needle 2021", which kicked off the elegant party in a dress of the fashion brand "Blink" with designer Radoslava Lazarova. The top model shone in a Marilyn Monroe-style outfit with an exquisite combination of designer lace, silk, glitter and French lace.

In his speech - both profound and attractive, and full of a lot of humor, Prof. Lubomir Stoykov - President of the Academy of Fashion, pointed out that in modern visual culture there is room for maxi, mini and mussel variations in women's dress code., as long as, of course, there is beauty, comfort and most importantly: the spirit of the times. He highlighted the social and aesthetic role of miniskirts from the late 1950s and early 1960s. He linked the emergence of this liberated (and for many Puritans - immoral) fashion with women's rebellion, baby boom, sexual revolution and, last but not least, women's struggle for equality and the role of mini-parishes as a symbol of feminism and emancipation. Prof. Stoykov noted the role and merit of the discovery and imposition of this style on such iconic designers as the Englishwoman Mary Quant and the Frenchman André Courrèges. The image and style expert did not fail to mention the credit for promoting mini-fashion to such influential ladies as Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy, recalling Churchill's thought that "Never in the history of fashion with so little material has been shown so little a lot!” Professor Lubomir Stoykov did not fail to point out the merit of the French designer Daniel Hechter (of Bulgarian origin) for imposing the maxi style, as well as to remind one of his humorous definitions of fashion - "Short skirts always offer long opportunities!".

In the evening, dedicated to the theme "mini or maxi", were shown several thematically sustained works of the winners of the "Golden Needle" - Axel Hardy, Albena Alexandrova, Radostina Ilieva and Radoslava Lazarova. Axel Hardy presented two outfits made especially for the event - one in the "mini" style and the other in the "maxi" style. The important thing for both outfits is that they are made entirely without waste - only from rectangular details with minimal energy consumption. Madame Roshav and her designer Albena Alexandrova had prepared an outfit especially for "Evenings of Style", in which the message emphasized the dress as the second "I" of every woman, whether she is mini or maxi, extravagant or classic, sexy or shy, formal or businesslike.

Radostina Ilieva - designer of the fashion brand "Allegra" offered her concept for the mini style. "Blink" with designer Radoslava Lazarova closed the fashion show, as the host of the event paraded with a second dress of the designer for 2021, this time in maxi style.

Hristo Durchev, owner of Balkantel and patron of the event, said: "I am happy to note that the mission of the socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion" Evenings of Style "continues - a project that I and my company" Balkantel "passionately we support. Without being a specialist in fashion design and lifestyle, I will admit that today's topic "Mini or maxi?" Intrigued me a lot and I find it not only curious and attractive, but also important and significant. I believe that tonight will enrich us culturally and aesthetically. I believe that each of us will learn something new and interesting, because every conversation about beauty and the sublime is a stimulus for aesthetic rise. As a patron of the Academy of Fashion, I am confident that in the coming months - July, August and September, we will continue this good tradition dedicated to style in behavior and clothing.
