nina todorova: i gain my purposes with ambition, a lot of work and a dose of LUCK!

Nina Todorova is a representative of the young generation designers, who experiment bravely with the fashion tastes of her admirers. She graduated at a technical school of clothes, and after that The New Bulgarian University – subject “Fashion”. She shares, that her passion to the fashion comes gradually. First she starts to carry away in drawing, after that arise her interest to other nationalities, their way of life, culture and clothing. From the student days she enters immediately in the world of the fashion design and she starts actively to occupy with fashion-shows and with exhibitions.

How will you describe your style?
The clothes that I create are youth, designed for younger audience. The character line in my style is that I use a great amount of accents and element to the toilets. I like to combine incompatible at first sight materials, even tendencies. I strive to create my unique style, but not to copy famous designers.

You work with famous ladies form the show business. How you succeed to create something different for every one of them?
Yes, I have the pleasure to create clothes and scenic toilets for some famous ladies in the Bulgarian show business. It is very interesting to work with such a person, but from the other side this also obliges the designer. He has to be always different, the toilets obligatory have to be unique, because these ladies are under the light of the searchlights and for them it will be uncomfortable to appear in identical clothes. I always strive to respond on their expectations, to create a new, extravagant toilet. Two of my favorite clients are Djina Stoeva and Alicia.

Are the famous ladies capricious?
I don’t thing that hey are capricious, rather they are exacting. They pay extremely attention to every one detail of their clothing – material, accents, and quality production. The most important for them is the toilet to be unique.

Which is the most untraditional toilet that you have made?
I would say that a great part of the toilets that I create are untraditional. For four years I work together with stylist Kapanov and I create the toilets for the festivals of the hair cut. All models that I create for these forums are substandard and extravagant. Recently I made the toilets for the competition “Web models New Faces”. I had to prepare special, original toilets, appropriate to the image and to the detachment of every of the pretenders for the title.

What kind of advices you give to your clients when they choose a toilet?
I always address to my clients like to my friends. My main objective is to persuade them that we are a tandem, who has to reach together a perfect result. That’s why I afford to myself to give them advices and I’m very glad, that the ladies that I work with consider my opinion like something positive and constructive. I strive to provoke my clients to choose always something substandard, untraditional; to choose color, that is suitable to them, but not to buy something, only because it is fashion. I pay a great attention on the cut of the cloth – it has to underline the advantages of the figure. An obligatory condition for the ladies is to choose toilets, in which they will feel comfortable. Also I advice my clients to pay attention to the occasion the cloth is necessary for.

How is possible through the clothing to hide some small disadvantages of the figure?
The small disadvantages can be easily hidden through the suitable cut of the toilet. It exist optical tricks, which are used, when the person is higher, lower or plumper. For example, the large ladies can hide this disadvantage with one sheer, asymmetric tunic that is decorated with larger accent. In this way the look will be attracted from the decoration, and the physical disadvantage will stay at the background. The important is the advice of the professional to be accepted.

Who are your favorite designers?
I admire to Roberto Cavalli, Vivian Westwood, John Galliano and Valentino. Every one of them is different and unique. The clothes that they create are stylish, innovatory and unique.

What do you like to do at your free time?
I detach difficult from my work, because I am wholly absorbed in that what I’m doing. It’s a pleasure for me to create so much beauty around me. In my little free time, that I succeed to steal, I occupy again with fashion – I look at the new materials, I figure out new models. When I am with my favorite people and friends, I travel, I have fun and I’m visiting different clubs.

What is your motto?
Impossible things don’t exist! All can be achieved with a lot of desire, ambition, work and a dose of luck.
