Jennifer Aniston: “I love simple things in life – am I boring?”
What do you enjoy most about fashion?
I love it and I love when people put me in it. I'm not one of those people who are all about the new season though. I try to stay up on it, but I just don't like being ruled by it. I do almost resent the whole fashion thing, never wearing the same thing twice and all of those things - it's a pain in the ass! I don't like feeling that every time I walk out of the house I'm going to be ridiculed or put on trial, so often I just wear flip-flops and jeans because that's just safe.
Have you ever felt insecure about the way you look?
Of course! You don't hit some level and just coast! I take care of myself, that's first and most important rule. You're damned if you're too thin, and you're damned if you're too heavy. According to the press, I've been both. It's impossible to satisfy everyone and I suggest we all stop trying. The most important thing is to be healthy and with that comes physical exercise and keeping yourself in shape.
What is your workout regime?
I run and sweat well. I am addicted to the euphoric feeling of getting up early and having a good sweat. It wakes your body up. I also do yoga, I run, and I eat well.
What about the famous hair which became your trade mark?
I just cut it and I condition it. I use only the products of L'Oreal. I have learned one thing - the fancy stuff always seems to not work.
How do you manage to look so healthy?
I drink lots of water - water, water, water. Water and sleeping are the most important.
How do you relax and get away from it all?
I travel al ot. I enjoy experiencing different places and cultures. The world is such a huge place and so interesting and it would take lots of lifetimes to get to know it all. I have learned to do my best and to spend my time the best way I can. At the moment I'm having time off for the first time in about 15 years and it's fun trying to figure out what you want to do. I love to go and visit my friends. I love being in my home. I like to watch movies and I like to take hikes. Am I boring?
What sort of films do you watch?
I love old movies. I still watch classics like Wuthering Heights and get emotional every time, even though I have seen it so often.
What makes you happy?
A sunset makes me happy. Small things make me happy - like being with my friends, have a bottle of wine with them. I am happy when I am in love.
What makes you unhappy?
I hate arguments. I don't like when there is negativity between people. There are some people who just seem to spend their lives telling everyone else how difficult things are.
What are your dreams and goals?
Just to keep doing what I love to do. Find peace. Family. Simple things that everybody wants.
What is the worst part of fame?
I would like to be able to go shopping without being followed for hours. I would like to go out, do my job, come home and enjoy being out and about without being looked at, pointed at, having photos taken without being asked and all that stuff. Some people love all that. I don't. I know it goes with the job. The worst is that I also have to fight with the guilt, the inner voice going, "Well, I don't have a right to be complaining." Because I love my job I have to be able to live with it. I just have to be careful to avoid places where there are lots of people.
You became popular as Rachel from “Friends” TV comedy series. Do you think you are a funny person?
I like to think I am a fun person. I enjoy comedy, I have done crazy things in the past such as sleeping outside a hotel simply because Duran Duran were staying there. I like being crazy and being with crazy people so long as it is always fun and nothing that really hurts.
Do you think it's getting easier to be an older woman in Hollywood?
Don't we have Demi Moore as an example to stop feeling worry about that? I'm not afraid of growing older. My grandmother was the centre of our family - I would love to be like her – the grandmother of the family, the godfather of the clan.
